Toshiba Android Tablet a Big Hit with Consumer Ratings

In early 2011, the Toshiba Android tablet was one of the first tablets that was able to actually compete with other well-known tablets such as the Ipad.  Nearly a year later, with the introduction of newer Toshiba android tablets – Toshiba has positioned itself as a prime contender in the tablet droid market.

The biggest contributor to the ‘tablet wars’ by Toshiba was their first 10 inch tablet which came stock with 32GB of storage spaced between the internal memory and the attached SD card.  And since this amount of memory comes standard at a fraction of the price of the infamous Ipad, it was sure to be a big hit with tablet buyers.

Perhaps one of the most impressive elements of the Toshiba android tablet is the 1280 x 800-resolution screen which combines Toshibas amazing resolution plus technology.  For the consumer, this means that you can expect an incredibly visual device that rivals – if not beats other major tablets on the market today.

Many of the droid tablets today don’t offer a camera.  Toshiba does.  For many consumers the fact that this tablet includes a camera is what primes them to make the buying decision.  For a long time, other more expensive tablets were the only ones on the market that could handle picture and video capturing.  The Toshiba android tablet has a front facing 2-mega pixel camera (for face time and other apps) as well as a 5-mega pixel rear-facing camera.

Another benefit to the Toshiba android tablet is that it is not a large and bulky piece of technological equipment.  In fact, in side-by-side comparisons – most consumers could not feel the weight difference between a Toshiba tablet and the Ipad – and they essentially both way about 1.6 pounds.

Earlier versions of the Toshiba tablet are running on the Android 2.2 platform and have received relatively few complaints from consumer reporting agencies.  However, the newer models that have been released after June of 2011, are up and running on Android 3.0.

As expected with a tablet, the Toshiba droid tablet is equipped with GPS and blue tooth.  While they do not come standard with 3G, they do have Wi-Fi connectivity, which is both fast and reliable.  In independent testing studies performed by Consumer Reports Magazine – the Toshiba droids family of tablets have received very high reviews for aesthetics and user friendliness.

While the Toshiba droid tablet may not be the best selling tablet on the market today – the future holds great promise for Toshiba.  They have been able to put together an incredibly high quality product and are offering more features and options for a great deal less money than Ipad.  And the future for Toshiba, only looks like it will get brighter and brighter.
